A personal statement is a short summary of your education and work experiences and achievements. If you are applying to a college or university course or even an apprenticeship you will need to create a personal statement.
A personal statement is an opportunity to sell yourself, as different courses and apprenticeships can be quite competitive. There are lots of people who can help you write a great personal statement. At your school, you can speak to your mentor, Careers Adviser or Pathways Coordinator. Outwith school, you can make an appointment with your local Skills Development Scotland careers office and they can give you extra support to write one.
