Clan Childlaw Housing Law Response Project

FREE EXPERT LEGAL ADVICE AND REPRESENTATION FOR YOUNG PEOPLE AT RISK OF HOMELESSNESS THROUGH THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC.

WHO WE CAN HELP

Young people aged up to 25 living in the central belt area of Scotland
  • Those experiencing homelessness or are at risk of homelessness
  • Young people worried about homelessness or a housing situation which has become worse because of Covid-19
  • Young people living in temporary or unsuitable accommodation
  • Those living in risky or unsafe situations
  • Those threatened with or worried about eviction
  • Young people worried about where they will be living when they leave care
  • Parents with housing problems that are affecting them and their children

HOW WE CAN HELP

  • Our lawyers will provide legal advice and representation to young people remotely. This means they can take on a legal case without meeting the young person face to face
  • Our lawyers will be available to work one-to-one with frontline workers, providing step-by-step legal guidance and supporting the worker to advocate for a young person who may be at risk of homelessness
  • We will be able to respond to urgent homelessness situations where a young person needs immediate legal advice because they have nowhere to stay
